Plans are your direct line to success.  All day long, we're planning certain aspects of our lives.  What to eat? What to where? Which gas station is below $2.00? and so on.  Plans give us direction.

First Steps

You've already taken the first steps by writing down your idea.  That is the beginnings of a solid plan.  It provides the goal for achievement.  The steps to get you to that achievement, will be your plan.  The next steps need to be fluid to capture and harness the power of your ideas.

First, stay simple.  You only need a pen and a paper to craft your initial broad based plan.  Next, start with a basic outline of major components to accomplish the goal.  Finally, post your idea and the accompanying outline somewhere you can see it everyday.  A good suggestion is taped above your bedroom light switch.  You need to see that Idea constantly to reinforce your idea and how you will accomplish your goal.

Flexibility

An often missed concept in business planning is Flexibility.  Solid plans will provide guidance, but there are times when something will happen that you cannot plan for, if you could, you'd probably be playing the lottery.  Which by the way you have a better chance of becoming wealthy by pursuing your ideas, than playing the lottery.  For those obstacles that you will face in business, your plan should be flexible enough to get you past the current challenge and back on the road toward achieving your goals.
